I have only begun reading my teammates blog a month ago and that is the first blog ever. Social networking has not been my "thing". But because I want so much to be successful with my fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training Program, and they suggested getting involved with social networks and creating your own, here I am.
My thanks to Jill first for her passive blogging example. I like her style and she has a great sense of humor and has just enough info in each entry to make it worthwhile visiting to see what she's up to.
I am currently nursing a case of plantar fasciitis of my right foot for the last 3 weeks and have just recently started to run again (2 miles each time with a couple days in between). It's better than it was, but it is still stiff and painfull when I step on it the wrong way without thinking, especially in the morning. I've been gently stretching it after the runs and each day throughout the day. Ice and rolling it on a tennis ball are therapies recommended to me as well. I've also ramped up my intake of ginger, turmeric and garlic in my diet for their anti-inflamatory effects. Since my running shoes are a couple of years old, I've also ordered a new pair, which will be coming in not soon enough.
I've been quite inactive for many years while taking care of my aging parents, who as of last July 4th are now both deceased and after spending about 6 months watching Turner Classic Movies and reading, I've found the spark that I was looking for to get me up and out. And I'll leave it here for now, for an explanation of that spark and what led me to where I am in my blog entry.
